About Project 61-3

ABOUT
Project 61-3 Ministries was founded in 2014 by Mickey and Cookie Johnson. That April, Mickey had gone to Romania to teach in the Gypsy Bible Institute. It had been raining, so it was very muddy. While there, Mickey had visited a feeding kitchen and taken photographs to send back home to the US. One photo in particular showed a little girl who had worn her mother's oversized boots just to get through the mud and water to the feeding kitchen. The Lord used this photo to put a burden on the Johnsons' hearts, and they realized that they wanted to do something to help meet the needs of people like this little girl. The girl, dubbed "Spark" by the Johnsons, was the "spark" that God used to lead them to start Project 61-3 Ministries, with the goal that HE might be glorified.

Since its founding, Project 61-3 has continued to assist missionaries, schools, churches, and orphanages all around the world, by providing brand new and gently-used clothing and shoes at no cost to their recipients. Even though Mickey passed away in 2017, the ministry is carried on by Cookie, their children, and their grandchildren. As of 2022, Project 61-3 has been able to help in 31 countries, and has given out over 3.5 million dollars' worth of clothing.
